2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320

American Muscle Cars have always had ties to drag racing – and Dodge, especially, has tried to stay true to that relationship with their releases. And while the Demon was perhaps a bit overly-ambitious and definitely controversial, the brand is looking to continue paying tribute to straight-line racing with a new release: the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320.

Named for the number of feet in a quarter-mile, the 1320 is – essentially – a street-legal tribute to grassroots drag racing. Powered by a naturally-aspirated 392 HEMI V8 capable of 485 horsepower and 475 foot-pounds of torque, this gorgeous contemporary dragster has a 0-60 time of just 3.8 seconds (and a quarter-mile time of 11.7 seconds). If you’re keeping score, that means this is the fastest naturally-aspirated muscle car available. It also comes with badging that includes a new interpretation of the legendary Dodge Super Bee logo, SRT-tuned Adaptive Damping Suspension, the option to include only a driver’s seat (though the passenger and rear seats can be added for $1 a piece), and the legendary TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Available in the first quarter of 2019, this car will sell starting at $42,990.
