While Ford has made a big stink about the upcoming re-release of their vintage-inspired Bronco, Chevy has been oddly scarce with information about upcoming SUVs. Which is why it was such an unexpected – but very welcome – surprise when they announced the triumphant return of one of their Chevrolet Blazer in 2019.
You’ll probably immediately notice that, unlike Ford’s throwback, there’s nothing retro about the upcoming Blazer. Rather, its aggressive styling seems to be borrowed from recent Corvette models, and that’s not a bad thing at all. While we assume there will be a base model, Chevy has also announced sporty RS and high-end Premier models. The SUV will also seat five, have up to 64.2 cubic feet of storage space, towing up to 4,500 pounds, and an available advanced AWD system. Offered with either a 2.5L I-4 engine or a 305-horsepower 3.6L V6 (both with 9-speed automatic transmissions), this aggressive sport utility vehicle will hit dealerships early next year.
