With its abundantly rich history, the 1911 pistol may go down in the annals of time as the greatest handgun ever built. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be made even more special. Take this offering from Cabot Guns, for instance. The Stellar Fusion custom 1911 is made from some extremely rare, literally out-of-this-world materials.
Completely functional and styled to look like a classic 1911, this pistol is actually constructed out of a combination of 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite-infused steel, Damascus steel, and a rare, mysterious green glass harvested in Libya that was created when a meteorite struck the Earth some 30,000,000 years ago — a material which was once coveted by Egyptian pharaohs in ancient times. And it’s not just the materials that are rare, as the process used to craft this firearm is equally impressive — consisting of the use of diamond impregnated saw blades, ultra-precise diamond cutters, and forging courtesy of Forged In Fire’s J. Neilson, a master bladesmith. Of course, if you want to know pricing and availability of this absurdly rare, one-of-a-kind gun, you’ll have to get in touch with Cabot — but you can expect supercar-level pricing for what’s certainly a collector’s item.
