BMW R1200R By Unique Custom Cycles

At this point, it’s safe to say that BMW has sealed the deal as one of the most popular platforms for custom motorcycle builders. Even the guys at one of Sweden’s most prominent motorcycle houses, Unique Custom Cycles (UCC), have been pumping out bikes from the iconic German manufacturer for some time — and now, their most recent project has taken a standard R1200R and transformed it into an exceedingly handsome work of art.

The 2015 BMW R1200R is a brisk 125-horsepower racer that features a heavy 92 ft-lb of torque — but with the original body-style lending itself to that of a chunky standard motorcycle, the team at UCC decided to strip down the entire bike. They reintroduced a new, more rounded body style with intriguingly clean lines and an integrated electrical system. A new chromoly subframe was added, alongside a perfectly sculpted tail section, and a handbuilt fuel cell to complement the bike’s minimal silhouette. The suspension was an entirely different story — an Ohlins TTX GP rear monoshock was tacked onto the build, as well as a fabricated, custom machined aluminum triple tree courtesy of Tolle Engineering. The battleship grey and bright orange candy color scheme create a perfect harmony with the LED-embedded frame rails, rounding out the water-cooled build.
