The Willys Jeep has a long and storied history, dating back some 75 years, which is directly intertwined with its military history. And while most of the brand’s earliest models are long gone, there are still a few here and there that pop up on the auction block — like this 1952 M38 from the Korean War.

Unlike its predecessors from WWII, this Jeep actually has quite a few upgrades that make it a much more capable vehicle — including better water fording abilities, mechanical wipers on its one-piece windshield, larger headlights, and more. This particular 45th Infantry Thunderbird Division example has also benefitted from a complete restoration at the hands of expert collectors and has been loaded with period-correct paraphernalia (all included with the sale) — including a ‘Ma Deuce’ M2 50-caliber machine gun, dual M1 Garand training rifles, machetes and bayonets, helmets, shovels, a 48-star American flag, and much more. This historically-significant SUV will hit the auction block at RM Sotheby’s 2019 Arizona sale with no reserve.
