The recent fires across the state of California have ranked amongst the most devastating natural disasters in history — with dozens, if not hundreds of victims claimed and entire communities having been completely wiped out. And while the fires are now contained, the relief efforts will take years. And that’s exactly why proud Northern California brewery, Sierra Nevada, has created their Resilience Butte County Proud IPA.

In order to aid in the relief efforts as much a possible and to help those affected by the fires, Sierra Nevada created this specialty India Pale Ale to celebrate the lands the brewery calls home, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Camp Fire Relief Fund. Better still, they’ve also enlisted the assistance of over 1,000 other breweries to do the same — making this perhaps the largest charity brewing effort ever undertaken. Even homebrewers are encouraged to participate, as Sierra Nevada has gone ahead and posted their recipe online — which consists of Rahr 2-Row and Crisp Crystal malts, a duo of Centennial and Cascade hops, and Imperial Dry Hop yeast or an American ale yeast of your choice. Look for this magnificent brew in taprooms, bars, and stores near you starting in late December.
