Leica is unmatched when it comes to classic, bold camera design — and in the last year, they’ve cornered the market with a barrage of innovative offerings, including the Leica Q, S, and SL, which continue to push the envelope when it comes to mirrorless tech. The Q-P, Leica’s newest model of the Q, sports a refined and updated architecture while maintaining the stringent quality standards set forth by its predecessor.
The newest Leica camera remedies some of the weaknesses found in the original, with an improved shutter release for greater tactile feel while switching between drive modes, a full-frame 24MP CMOS sensor, integrated high-resolution EVF, and a subtle but significant change to its colorway. The Q-P will no longer feature the trademark red Leica logo on the front of the body, and instead, will opt for a new “stealth” paint finish, which comes alongside a high-resistance flat matte black that gives the camera a more textured ergonomic feel. The new Q-P package will include a Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens, dedicated brown leather strap, and all the quality you’ve come to expect from the German camera maker.
