Back in 2010, Range Rover’s first compact luxury SUV was unveiled — achieving tremendous success with over 750,000 sales between then and now. But after more than seven years, the brand decided it was time for some much-needed updates. And they’ve introduced them perfectly into the new 2020 Range Rover Evoque.

This brand-spanking-new edition still boasts some of the same lines as its predecessor, including its sloping roof and a tapered tail end. But it’s gotten even sleeker, thanks to handles that go flush against the doors when not in use (a nice touch borrowed from its big brother, the Velar). The inside, however, is where things have really changed. The 2020 model boasts almost the same exterior measurements as its predecessor but has a wider wheelbase to increase cabin space. The cargo area is also bigger by 6%, thanks to a wider tail end. It also now features a hybrid powertrain option that’s good for 296 horsepower (that’s up 50 from the standard 2.0-liter). And it doesn’t stop there — the new Evoque also has loads of high-tech features, including smart learning (which uses AI to determine individual driver preferences), full wireless connectivity, and even the brand’s “transparent hood” tech that gives the driver a 180-degree view of the ground directly in front of the vehicle. Information like pricing and availability will become available soon.
