When it comes to sport bikes, Ducati’s Panigale series has always been one of the most impressive — both in regards to styling and performance. But they’ve truly outdone themselves with their latest release, the 2019 Ducati Panigale VR 4, which is now the most powerful gas-powered bike ever built.
Though it is completely legal for road use, this is a racing bike through and through. And there’s no denying that, especially when you consider that this monstrous performance two-wheeler boasts a whopping 221 horsepower (which can be bumped up to 234 with an optional Akrapovic race exhaust system), courtesy of its 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine. That horsepower rating is paired with an equally-impressive 83 foot-pounds of torque and an overall dry weight of just 379 pounds. And it just keeps getting better from there, as it also boats an aerodynamic windscreen, carbon fiber appendices that help improve stability, fully mechanical Öhlins steering damper and suspensions, and a handful of technological upgrades in the cockpit. Pricing has yet to be unveiled, but it shouldn’t be more than $46,000, so long as Ducati wants to race it in the World Superbike racing series.
