It’s a brave new world out there for all-electric vehicles, as we continue to trend away from fossil fuel-powered rides. That includes electric motorcycles, which have seen a pretty big influx of new offerings and brands as of late. The suddenly crowded field also means it’s much harder to stand out against the crowd. Though that doesn’t look like it’s going to be a problem for the newcomers at Tarform.
Calling them newcomers is maybe a bit of a misdirection, however, as the company’s co-founder and CEO, Taras Kravtchouk, has quite the design pedigree — having worked for the likes of Google, NBC, Spotify, and more. Nonetheless, this new endeavor promises to be something special. Their first all-electric motorcycle boasts vintage-inspired styling, ripped right from the pages of cafe racer history. The styling, however, betrays the modern tech that went into its production. This includes, along with an electric powertrain, modularity that allows the bike to be upgraded quickly and easily, smart functionality and app connectivity (which can even alert users when it’s time for maintenance and schedule the appointment), and even the incorporation of 3D printing and biomaterials to make the vehicle even more sustainable. Of course, if performance is your chief concern, it’s also said to do up to 120 mph with a range of 90 miles per charge. There’s no word yet on price, but you can signup for updates on Tarform’s site.
