Typically, when folks think about the idea of a hybrid car, middling hatchbacks and low-power sedans come to mind. However, there are actually quite a few performance-focused hybrids with stats so impressive, they would make your head spin. Now, Infiniti is looking to join their ranks with the Project Black S Prototype.

As an illustration of the brand’s commitment to the development of high-end performance electric powertrains, this sports car boasts Infiniti’s award-winning VR30 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine beneath its hood. For reference, that beating heart gives this blacked-out bird of prey — which is based on the Q60 Red Sport 400 coupe — a horsepower rating of 563 and a 0-62 time of under four seconds. It’s hard to say if this concept will ever make it to production, but it will be a tremendous shame if it doesn’t.
