In an effort to revamp the brand image and add a touch of modernity to the classic spirit, William Grant & Sons just ponied up a cool $17 million for an elaborate update to the Hendrick’s Gin distillery in Girvan, Scotland.

Know as the Hendrick’s Gin Palace, the opulent distillery now lives up to its namesake wholeheartedly thanks to the serious overhaul. For example, lucky visitors are greeted initially by an enchanting walled garden that leads forward into a magnificent Victorian palm house. Both sides are also adored by two botanical hot-houses that serve to grow a wide variety of flora from across the globe used to distill the spirit. There’s also a flavor library inside, a lecture theater to encourage further research, and a stylish bar for tasting all within Master Distiller Lesley Gracie’s lab while all six of the distillery’s stills are housed in an elegant manner.
