It was a shame to hear of the star’s recent passing at the age of 82, but we’d be lying if we said that Burt Reynolds didn’t have a very long and full life and career. One of the highlights of that career, undeniably, was his appearance in the car film, Smokey and the Bandit. In fact, it was such a big part of his life that he personally commissioned a recreation of the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am that appeared on screen. And now, it can be yours.

Built to exacting specifications, the late star wanted this vehicle to be as film-correct as possible — while still having a few modern conveniences and creature comforts. That includes the addition of air conditioning, as well as a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission. The Pontiac 400ci engine (originally capable of something in the neighborhood of 360 horsepower) also got a full rebuild, including the addition of Butler Performance parts to keep her purring like a jungle cat. This legendary car is set to hit Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas 2018 auction block — no reserve is set.
