Headquartered in Walnut Creek, California and with an R&D office in Kyiv, Ukraine, Limpid Armor, Inc. is a military technology company keen on revolutionizing battlefield technology. Their most recent creation is a high-tech VR Headset for tank crews that Limpid Armor calls the Land Platform Modernization Kit, and it endows tank crews with an incredible ability — X-ray vision.

While cloistered inside the hardly penetrable walls of tanks, tank crews are still incredibly exposed on a battlefield. As the lumbering vehicle moves about, a tank remains a huge (if also very rugged) target. Usually, tankers must look out through small apertures located in the thick walls of the tank. Their views are generally very limited. Using distributed Aperture System (DAS) technology from the F-35 joint strike fighter jet, the Land Platform Modernization Kit uses four infrared cameras to create a 360-degree real-time battlefield environment delivery feed which is streamed directly to the HUD of the visor-like helmet, which can be worn by soldiers within the safe confines of the tank. This amazing advance in military technology may represent a substantive leap toward the future of warfare.
