A hot shave is generally superior to a cold water shave. Heat relaxes hair follicles, making your hair less coarse and more receptive to a razor blade’s edge. There’s nothing quite like having a hot towel placed on your face before being shorn by a deft-handed barber’s straight razor. For those without a live-in barber, there is the GilletteLabs Heated Razor.

Developed in conjunction with Procter and Gamble, the Heated Razor is designed to simulate the hot-towel experience as you shave. As the razor blade glides across your face (or other parts of the body), a warming bar emits a comfortable level of heat, tempered by an Intelligent Heat Safety Control System. With the press of a button, the blade heats to the appropriate level within seconds. Some like it hotter than others, of course, so GilletteLabs has left it up to the user to adjust the temperature level to his liking. Wireless magnetic charging makes it a breeze to keep the razor energized. A premium-grade zinc aluminum handle promises not to rust over time.
