Though we are firm believers that off-road-ready 4x4s are meant to be taken on adventures, we also occasionally come across those that are practically museum-quality works of art. This 1969 Ford Bronco Hunter by the Ford-backed racing team Holman & Moody is one such vehicle.

Literally one-of-a-kind, this beautiful creature was originally built as a Ford test vehicle — though you wouldn’t know it by looking at it. And that appearance is no accident, as this SUV went through a rigorous 2,400-hour restoration, down to its blueprinted dyno-tuned Ford 302 engine that was originally capable of 250 horsepower and 250 foot-pounds of torque. About as handsome as Broncos get, this white and orange beast is unfortunately spoken for, having sold at Gooding & Co’s Pebble Beach auction for $121,000 — a steal, if you ask us.
