Having outsold their nearest competitor (Xbox One) by nearly double, there’s no denying that the PlayStation 4 sits squarely at the top of the video game console industry. But Sony has been in the game for a long time now, with the original PlayStation having been released way back in 1994. Now, the brand has even more reason to celebrate, as they’ve just crossed a major threshold – and they’re commemorating that benchmark with the new PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition console.

Named for the number of gaming consoles the brand has sold since their original release, this beautiful device is done up in a deep blue – just translucent enough so that you can marvel at the hint of the technology working its magic within. But it isn’t just the console itself that gets this see-through treatment, as it also comes with a DualShock controller, camera, vertical stand, and mono headset done up similarly. Each console also receives a commemorative plate with a unique serial number etched upon it – of which a select few are specially designated according to important dates in the brand’s history (e.g. 09995, the original PlayStation launch date). It also gets some technological boosts in the form of a massive 2TB hard drive. Limited to 50,000 units total, this console will sell for $500 when it launches.
