Custom shop Rough Crafts has fulfilled the fantasy of Ducati-lovers everywhere by creating a modern SportClassic model. In the absence of a contemporary version of the famous bike model that Ducati produced from 2003-2010, custom motorcycle builders Winston Yeh and Rough Crafts have brought an update into the world, and Duc fans everywhere are grateful.

The special new SportClassic is not based on one of the original Ducati models. Instead, Rough Crafts used a 2016-model Monster 1200 S as their canvas. Rough Crafts wanted to use the Monster to rebuild the SportClassic (though with a radical Rough Crafts veneer). They rebuilt the bodywork from scratch and implanted chunky 48mm Öhlins forks to thicken the bike’s bones. Custom designed six-spoke wheels from Wukawa Industry are wrapped in Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp rubber. Rough Crafts bikes are usually all-black affairs; this new age SportClassic has a fair amount, but its primary color is a denim blue — giving it the nickname “The Indigo Flyer.”
