If you’re a fan of Beatles legend Paul McCartney, then you’ll certainly be excited to hear the news: baby, you can drive his car. Going up for auction is Sir Paul McCartney’s favorite runabout from his Beatles days, his 1965 Morris Mini Cooper S DeVille.
Ordered by the band’s manager Brian Epstein in 1965, each of the Beatles received one of these special Mini Coopers. As you might expect, this is no ordinary Mini; it came decked out with fabulous features for the Fab Four. A Webasto sliding sunroof, Aston Martin taillights, power window lifts, a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita three-spoke steering wheel, rich woodgrain interior accents, luxuriously upgraded bucket seats, a central armrest, Smiths instruments, custom wheels, and a California Sage green paint job that looks better than any Yellow Submarine furnish the lovely little car. Often seen publicly with McCartney in the ’60s and ’70s, the Mini even featured in the Beatles’ 1967 movie The Magical Mystery Tour.
