Is it a Testarossa? Or a 250 GTE? The only logical answer is that it’s both — and it’s simply stunning. Constructed in 2001 from a wrecked 250 GTE by legendary restorer Neil Twyman, this extremely unique Ferrari is a chimera of two famous models, and the resultant 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE x Testarossa is going up for sale.

After a short stint in the world of finance, Neil Twyman decided to pursue a labor of love: supercar restoration. Specializing in pre-war Alfa Romeo and post-war Ferrari restoration, Neil and his brother Craig have been restoring cars since 1983. The car in question here is a 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE that has been restored from a state of disrepair “in the style of Testarossa.” This doesn’t mean the Testarossas of the ’70s and ’80s, but the sleek racing TRs from 1957 and ’58. The result is a beautifully unique Ferrari red and cream build that just might be worthy of an inane asking price.
