The Great Escape might be the hands-down best war movie of all time. And we mean across the board – from the stars that appeared in it, to the killer plot, to – of course – one very specific automotive stunt in which Steve McQueen makes a run for the Swiss border on the back of a Triumph motorcycle. And now, for the first time since the movie was filmed, that very 1962 TR6R is going on public display.

To be fair, McQueen didn’t actually do the stunt himself. That honor belongs to Bud Ekins – a stuntman and legend in his own right. Regardless, this moto is a piece of movie and automotive history, which will be available for viewing at this year’s Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance held at Salon Privé, located at Blenheim Palace in the U.K. on August 30th. It may be the most iconic movie vehicle on two wheels and this could be your only chance to see it in person.
