There exist a few significant shoe variants to mark momentous points in sneaker history. The Converse Chuck Taylor, the Nike Air Jordan’s arrival en scene in ’85, the first cross-training shoe – the Nike Air Trainer – in the late ’80s. But one shoe has long held a prominent post in sneaker lore for decades, while remaining completely conceptual. That’s the luminous and legendary cinematic prop, the Nike Air Mag from 1989’s Back To The Future Part II, and now an original pair is up for grabs (but be delicate).

Despite its state of disrepair, this shoe is still lighting up eBay with traffic from covetous, drooling sneakerheads and movie buffs alike. Conjured by legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, this Nike Air Mag lot features just the left shoe of the pair crafted specifically for Michael J. Fox to wear as the young DeLorean driver time-traveling rascal Marty McFly. The shoe has been preserved (sort of) by a longtime Nike employee, and now it – and the crumbs it has shed in recent years – are up for sale. Despite its deterioration, this sneaker is well on its way to skyrocketing past the $20K mark.

Purchase: $18,000+
