California Ghost Town For Sale

We see a lot of interesting homes that hit the auction block for absurd amounts of money. But it’s a rare occasion that we see something that really gets our blood pumping, like the Cerro Gordo California Ghost Town that’s now up for sale.

A 45-minute drive from the town of Lone Pine, Cerro Gordo was once a populated (albeit sparsely) silver mining town in the 19th century. In fact, the 300 acre property was actually the first mining camp south of the Sierra Nevada mountains and had a hand in the early growth of Los Angeles, California when it was still in operation. Now, the 22 structures on the property – including a hotel (with its own saloon), church, bunkhouse, and several homes – lie empty waiting for the next sheriff to come along and buy them up. And that could be you, if you’re willing to shell out $925,000 for the opportunity.

Purchase: $925,000
