2019 Suzuki Jimny

Since 1970, Suzuki has been making their Jimny compact SUV. And while it certainly isn’t the burliest off-roader, it’s plenty capable – especially for drivers that like adventure, but have a tight budget. That being said, the little bruiser has been wanting a bit in regards to style. Thankfully, the fourth generation’s release is impending. And it looks like the 2019 Suzuki Jimny is taking a page right out of Mercedes-Benz’s book.

The little 2-door 4×4 looks an awful lot like a bite-sized knockoff of the classic G-Wagon – which, for us, is a very good thing. But the appearance also looks to serve a bit of function. For instance, the rear cargo area is accessible by a door that spans the full width of the tail end, making for easy loading and unloading. It also features a set of fender flares not present in previous iterations. Even the limited look at the inside appears to suggest durable materials perfect for adventure. Unfortunately, there’s not much info on performance – other than the promise of part-time four-wheel drive and a three-link rigid axle suspension. Whatever the case, this promises to be a great little budget brawler.
