Smartphone makers have been engaged in an arms race over screen and camera quality for years now. As a result, each new phone pushes the limits of what we expect of our devices – even if only incrementally. LG’s new G7 ThinQ can definitely be evaluated in those terms, but maybe the most eye-catching state from the phone is something you can’t actually look at.
This phone is supposedly 10-times louder than any other on the market, and features double the bass. For those that make liberal use of the speaker phone or like to catch a podcast while showering up in the morning, this phone could be a real boon. It even has a Hi-Fi Quad DAC for high-end headphones and DTS:C support that provides 3D surround sound to listeners on run-of-the-mill headphones. The cameras and screen aren’t bad, either. The rear-facing cameras can capture 16 megapixel shots or 8 megapixel selfies with the front-facing camera. Shots captured by both are displayed on a big 6.1-inch QHD+ Super Bright Display with a quite familiar looking notch at the top.
