It was honesty only a matter of time before one of the most paradigm-shifting pieces of manufacturing hardware was utilized by one of the most creative companies on the planet. Introducing the Nike Zoom Vaporlfly Elite Flyprint.

Essentially a gussied up version of the already popular marathon silhouette released by Nike last year, this sneaker features an upper created entirely using 3D printing technology. As a result of using this special approach, these sneakers from Nike are a full 11-grams lighter than their stock counterparts, absorb much less water, and remain more breathable. While this may sound like much to do about nothing, it bares keeping in mind that sports like distance running are determined largely by marginal gains and improvements. Nike will be releasing a limited number of these sneakers to celebrate the London Marathon coming up this thursday on the Nike App for around $600.
