Technically speaking, James Bond never drove an Aston Martin DB4 – though series author Ian Fleming did put him in a DB Mark III in the Goldfinger book and he drives a reasonably similar DB5 in the film. Still, it’s hard to imagine the famous spy not appreciating the pristine condition of this road-ready 1962 Aston Martin DB4 Series IV.

This particular example has an exceptionally well-documented history going back 50 years – including records of both its conscientious owners and detailed testimony as to the conditions the car was driven in. Interestingly enough, this car doesn’t house the original Tadek Marek engine, it having been swapped for a more desirable 4.2-liter one instead. It’s also seen a bit of work on the interior to ensure it feels as good to sit inside it as it looks from outside. In any case, this is a gentleman’s sports car that is sure to turn heads everywhere it goes. It’s headed to auction in Monaco via RM Sotheby’s, though pricing info has not been released.
