Since it first went on sale in 1966, the Chevrolet Camaro has been a staple of American-made automobiles both for its performance and unique appearance. But Chevy hasn’t rested on their laurels, constantly updating the pony car to keep its styling fresh and new. And it looks like the time has come again for an upgrade, as the 2019 Camaro is getting a big facelift.

Of course, the Detroit brand isn’t just changing the appearance of the Camaro purely for kicks, as they are of the opinion that every alteration should serve to better the car’s performance. As such, the new grill, hood, and fascia vents are all optimized for maximum airflow – both cooling the engine and minimizing both drag and lift. But there are a couple of mechanical changes, as well. For instance, the SS model is now available with a 10-speed transmission with paddle shifters. There’s also a new model, called the 1LE – which features a 275 hp 2-liter engine. Whether you’re looking for an entry-level racer or a drop-top American Muscle cruiser, the new Camaro is right up your alley. Sales begin toward the tail end of the year.
