2019 BMW M2 Competition

Small but mighty, the BMW M2 standard originally came with 365 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, generated by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine. But the folks at Bavarian Motor Works thought they could do better; pack a few more horses into the pony-sized chassis of the M2. Thus was bred the BMW M2 competition, a small but stallion-esque sportscar, with a lot more giddyup than its predecessor.

Still equipped with a 3.0 liter inline-six, the M2 competition jumps its preceding model with 410 HP crammed inside its modest frame. Out of the gate, the M2 goes 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat (4.2 for the six-speed manual). Because of this serious boost in power, the chassis got an upgrade, too. Aluminum-intensive front and rear axles and a carbon fiber strut brace were borrowed from the bigger and faster M3 and M4 models to aid the M2’s control. Enlarged air inlets and the full-length kidney grill bearing the M2 boldly brand the nose. Bigger brakes were added, too, which makes sense. You’ll need them in order to take the reins to the rawly powerful M2 Competition.
