Next year, 2019, marks the 60th anniversary of the classic Mini – immortalized in the ’60s crime film, The Italian Job. To coincide with the momentous occasion, the car brand has announced that they’ll be releasing their first all-electric vehicle. But we’re getting a sneak peek at what it might look like right now, thanks to the unveiling of their Classic Mini Electric concept.

The company is calling it, “an imaginary journey through time,” as this gorgeous road-goer boasts retro-inspired styling mated to contemporary plug-in powertrain technology. There is, however, a catch: while it was created to demonstrate Mini’s commitment to utilizing zero emissions technology in the future, this particular build in one-of-a-kind. We can only hope that, when the time comes to show off the production vehicle, they take some, if not all, styling cues from this prototype.
