In 1993, Ayrton Senna set a record for most consecutive wins at the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. That sixth win, still the prevailing record to this day, was done behind the wheel of this McLaren MP4/8A. And now, courtesy of Bonhams, it’s headed to auction.

Though he died tragically in a crash in 1994, Senna still holds the 5th spot in regards to the most race wins of all time. In fact, he is widely considered the greatest Formula 1 racer ever to grace the track. And the fact that one of his greatest achievements was realized behind the wheel of this car makes it a truly special piece of automotive history. What’s even more impressive is that it is still in working order – meaning you could theoretically drive it out of Bonhams’ Monte Carlo auction this May. It’s hard to say how much this iconic racer will go for, but we anticipate it will potentially sell in the tens of millions of dollars.
