Leica Q Snow

Leica’s cameras are particularly well suited for being released in special, limited edition colorways. Their bodies are so spare and clean that they almost look like the platonic ideal of a camera. As a result, it isn’t hard to see these classic bodies as a kind of canvas. In fact, just in time for the Olympics, Leica did just that with their limited Q ‘Snow’.

Released in collaboration with Louri Podladtchikov, a Swiss Olympic gold medalist and Pyeongchang Olympic competitor (unfortunately he had to withdraw from competition due to an injury) in the men’s halfpipe, the entire body of the full-framed camera is made to be stark white with its pale leather body and silver anodized trim. Other than an updated look and a special aluminum shoe, the camera features all the same top-tier specs you’d expect to see from the Q; a 24 megapixel CMOS sensor, an ISO of 50,000, and the ability to record full HD video in 30FPS. Only 300 of these will be made available starting in March of this year.

Purchase: $5,395
