At the tail end of last year, Confederate Motors announced that they would be changing their name to Curtiss Motorcycles. Then, they just went dark, while the rest of us were forced to lie in wait. Finally, they’re back with their first bike under the new moniker and, let us tell you, the Warhawk is glorious.
The first bike to carry the Curtiss name in over 100 years, the former-Confederate styling is unmistakable from its aggressive front forks to low-and-long tail end. But, there’s also a new refinement to this bike found in the smaller details – like its matching hunter green fenders, high-grain leather seat, exposed air filter, and exposition case for the unusual toothed belt camshaft drive. And the performance is nothing to scoff at, either – with 150 bhp, 160 ft-lb of torque, and a top speed over 164 mph. There’s a maturity to this bike’s brutality and we hope that’s a sign of things to come from the newly-renamed Curtiss brand. Only 35 examples of this bike are to be made at a price of $105,000 each.
