There are a lot of cars out there that could be considered classic, but there are far fewer that fall into the range of legendary. The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing definitely falls into the latter category. And now, a nearly immaculate example from 1956 is headed to auction.

At face value, this car is clearly in amazing shape and anyone would be lucky to park her in their garage. What makes this luxury two-door even more special, however, is its history. You see, this one was owned exclusively by one family from 1956 to 2006. Then, in 2007 it was fully restored to show standards by RM Auto Restorations in Canada (with photo documentation, of course). Now it comes equipped with fitted luggage, belly pans, and reproduction Rudge wheels. And it has just barely over 57,000 miles on it. You could be the next one to watch the odometer tick on this magnificent classic, if you’ve got $1,800,000 to shell out.

Purchase: $1,800,000
