2018 Ford Ranger Raptor

Fully equipped, off-road ready spec models of trucks have become all the rage lately, with every major manufacturer offering at least one truck from their range in heavy duty trim. Ford has been no stranger to this category and have just added the Ranger Raptor to their lineup of factory built dirt road ravagers.

Looking like a shrunken version of the proven F-150 Raptor, as most would have hoped for, the Ranger Raptor is essentially just that. Over the base level packages, the Ranger sees a completely different front end, including a different grill and steel bumper with an integrated skid plate. Fenders get flared both front and rear to allow for clearance for the whopping 33-inch BFG All-Terrains as they swing through the suspension travel that gets cushion from ultra stout Fox Racing Shox. Under the hood of the little Raptor Ford has dumped in a 2.0-Liter bi-turbocharged inline four cylinder diesel that pumps out 210 horsepower and 369 lb•ft of torque, supplying the six drive modes with plenty of berm roosting power. Don’t hold your breath for this one though, as there is no sight on the Ranger Raptor prowling American soil anytime soon.
