There is some gear so seemingly mundane that you’d think a brand like Yeti – renowned for their absurdly well-built coolers – might just overlook it. But that’s just not the Yeti way. With their latest venture, they’ve taken a ubiquitous piece of outdoor furniture, the camp chair, and completely reengineered it from the ground-up.
Sure, at first glance, it looks a little… commonplace. But, we assure you this is one of the best folding chairs we’ve ever seen. In fact, they’re saying it’s bombproof – not to mention it has the ability to support more than 3,000 pounds. We credit that largely to its construction; starting with a frame built from two layers of age-hardened aluminum and Diehard cast joints (like those used on automobiles). Then, a back and seat mesh crafted from Easybreath mesh with Flexgrid technology – which doesn’t change shape even under tremendous pressure – is added. Finally, the whole thing is finished off with a seamless Gridguard over-mold, ensuring that the seams never break or tear. This nigh-indestructible folding chair can be yours soon for $300.
