The Single Malt Fund

If you have some extra cash just lying around, you might be thinking about investing it. And of course, you could go with something obvious – like Bitcoin, real estate, or the stock market. Then again, you could put it all into something you really care about: whiskey.

The Single Malt Fund is the world’s first ever regulated whiskey investment fund – and we’re shocked it took this long for someone to think of it. After all, so much of whiskey’s value is determined by its age. Founded by a group of Swedish scotch aficionados, this fund functions basically the same as an investment in, say, gold. Meaning you’d be putting your money up against the fund’s own collection of ultra-rare limited edition whiskies. And while that seems a bit risky (aren’t all good investments?), the potential returns – growth of up to 25% per year – are a bit too juicy to pass up. And it will only cost you a 2.5% management fee. As of right now, the fund is most easily accessible by Swedish investors at a starting investment cost of €1,000 EUR ($1,230 USD), but – as can by discovered via their disclaimer – other international investors could facilitate an investment through the fund’s bank.
