Spyderco Squarehead Lightweight Knife

When it was introduced, the original Squarehead was one of Spyderco’s most innovative blades for its meshing of small size and big functionality. They’ve taken it a step further with their newest iteration, the Lightweight, by dropping the heft significantly.

This new version weighs a grand total of just 1.2 ounces, but it still measures up at a grand total of 3.53 inches in length when opened and just 2.23″ closed. The largest reason for the drop in weight is the inclusion of a new fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle scale. And, of course, it retains a CTS BD1 American steel sheepsfoot straight edge blade with the brand’s signature thumbhole (for both one- and two-handed deployment), a sturdy liner lock, and bi-directional texturing for a secure grip. The Squarehead Lightweight works equally well as a neck knife or pocket blade and can be yours for $80.

Purchase: $80
