The Ferrari name is indelible in the car world. Truly, there are few, if any brands that boast the same pedigree. And that’s pretty easy to understand when you take a moment to gaze upon some of the excellent vehicles throughout their history – like this 1959 250 GT LWB California Spider Competizione by Scaglietti.

Believe it or not, this immaculate sports car (which was once rated at 262.5 bhp) is valued at nearly $18,000,000. Certainly its rarity as the second of only eight aluminum-bodied California Spiders built can account for some of that. But there’s a lot more that makes this car special. For instance, it actually participated in the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race – where it placed 3rd in class and 5th overall (just one of many accolades). It’s also incredibly original, having garnered Ferrari Classiche certification, and even still has the original included tool roll. Unfortunately, this stunningly spectacular ride is already spoken for – so even if you had the money, you’d have to convince the lucky so-and-so that just bought it to sell it to you.
