It’s been a half-century since Steve McQueen’s adrenaline-fueled film Bullitt first premiered on the big screen. And with it, one of the most iconic movie cars of all time. Now, in celebration of this milestone, Ford is releasing a 2019 tribute to the famed 1968 Mustang driven by McQueen himself in that resonating car chase through the streets of San Francisco.

Outfitted in either classic Dark Highland Green or Shadow Black, this sweet tribute packs some serious power under the hood thanks to a 5.0L V8 boasting an output of 475 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a top speed upwards of 163 mph, 8 mph faster than the standard GT model. Buyers will also recognize a replica cue ball knob controlling the six-speed manual transmission similar to the original as well. Additionally, the 2019 Mustang Bullitt will come equipped an active valve performance system complete with black NitroPlate tips, open air induction the system, and a Shelby GT350 intake system. Subtle chrome accents around the grille and front windows, classic torque thrust aluminum wheels, and a faux gas cap Bullitt logo also serve as a nod to the original. Available in June of 2018.
