Building the perfect tailgating rig can be a pursuit that lasts a lifetime, because as soon as you think you’ve got all the accoutrements under the sun, some yayhoo in the next section outdoes you with the latest and greatest. Nissan has been a long time supporter of the weekly parking lot rituals, and for this year’s annual Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Indiana they pulled out all the stops with their ‘Smokin Titan XD’ BBQ smoker concept pickup truck.

Beginning with a stock Nissan Titan XD King Cab petrol model manufactured at their Canton, Mississippi factory, the first thing to go was the stock cargo bed that was replaced by an aluminum unit from CM Truck Beds that allowed room for three food prep stations right on the back of the truck. The factory bed was then fitted to a custom B&S Trailer chassis before a sliding tray was installed to cradle the custom Lang BBQ Smoker and Char Grill, housed under a diamond plate clad Tonneau cover to keep the cooking units hidden from the elements. Inside the second row of the King Cab is a 50-quart fridge/freezer combo unit from ARB that is mounted to sliding rack, allowing for easy access to burgers and dogs once this fully loaded party wagon finds the perfect end zone for pre game cookin.
