It might seem hard to believe, but Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the 50th anniversary of AMG, the brand’s performance division. And whether you like their high-end luxury street torpedoes or not, that’s a hell of a milestone to hit. Well, turns out Mercedes-Benz knows how to celebrate the right way, as they’ve released a commemorative edition of their AMG GT C coupe, dubbed the Edition 50.
This vehicle still has all the bells and whistles of a standard GT C – a 4.0-liter V8 “biturbo” engine capable of producing 550 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, a proprietary AIRPANEL active air management system, and a killer retooled front end. But it also features a special designo Graphite Grey Magno exterior with black chrome highlights and a black and silver highlighted nappa leather interior. It also comes standard with AMG’s Interior Night package – a series of all-black design elements marking the “sporty” nature of the car. No price has been announced, but only 50 examples of this stunning sports car (and 50 of its soft-top roadster counterpart) are to be made, so you’d better act quickly. [Purchase]
