If the term ‘wagon’ conjures up visions of family vacations and slow-going boxy motor vehicles, it’s with good reason. Most wagons are, simply put, unremarkable. But, just because most of them look and perform like the one in those National Lampoon movies, that doesn’t mean they all have to follow suit. If you don’t believe us, just look to the 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 S Wagon.

Though it bears the general shape of something you might expect your cousins to arrive in over the holidays, this wagon has the heart of a sports car. And not just any sports car – no, this one has the legendary minds at AMG behind it. And that makes it something incredibly special. Believe it or not, under the hood of the E63 S sits a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 capable of 603-horsepower and eliciting 627 foot-pounds of torque. That means it has an astonishing 0-60 time of just 3.4 seconds. And that paired with the fact that it’s equipped with AMG’s new Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system makes is abundantly worthwhile to keep it on your radar. Though they haven’t revealed the price, you can expect this wagon to be well over the $100,000 mark when it’s finally released. [Purchase]
