2018 Honda Super Cub

Although it is hardly the sexiest motorcycle out there, there’s no denying the popularity of Honda’s Super Cub motorcycle. In fact, the brand just hit a major milestone with the bike: 100 million units built. In order to celebrate that achievement, Honda has announced that they will be reissuing two of the classic models for the 2018 year – the 50cc and 100cc.

Unsurprisingly, with this classic revival, Honda went to great lengths to improve upon their already-widely respected commuter motorcycle. They include the addition of a revamped low-friction 4-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine, upgrades to the oil system to make part and oil changes easier, and a 2-stage catalyzer muffler paired with the brand’s PGM fuel injection system to meet more rigorous exhaust requirements. In regards to styling, these new bikes are getting LED lights and turn indicators, an instrument panel designed around easy-reading, and both have the option to upgrade to a “Pro” edition (which comes equipped with front and rear storage for easier transport of goods. As of now, they will only be available in Japan at a starting price of about $2,040 – but we hope this little commuter bike reissue makes it to the states at some point.
