Alpina is more than just an aftermarket tuner, they’re recognized by the German Ministry of Transport as a full-blown automobile manufacturer. And their new B4 S Bi-Turbo is a powerful reminder of why they’re held in such high regard in the automotive world.
The Alpina Edition 99 doesn’t branch too far from the original vehicle, but there are a few specifics that we think justify the $85,000 price tag. Through a slew of new upgrades, the shop has taken another standard luxury vehicle and pushed it to new heights with personalized performance, suspension, and color variants. The car will feature the same twin-turbo, straight-six engine, but with a fully modified and upgraded Akrapovic titanium exhaust system which will cut the weight of the original by almost 15lbs. The car also touts an eight-speed automatic transmission and sits near 452hp with just over 500 lb-ft of torque, helping it hit 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. And don’t sleep on the limited-edition colorways, Grigio Medio and Fire Orange, which will stand alongside the car’s immaculate Alcantara hand-stitched leather interior. The Alpina is already available for pre-order in Germany, where it’s seducing Autobann buyers with either a coupe or convertible variant. But you’d better act fast if you want one, only 99 examples of this spectacular car will ever be produced.
