Dyneema has been available on the broader market since 1990, but only in the last few years has the material really gotten its due. Increasingly we’ve seen the high molecular weight polyethylene chemical-based fabric used in everything from slide-resistant motorcycle jeans to backpacks, and now this V-Series jacket from Swedish outerwear brand Haglofs.

While this jacket may look like your common down outer layer, it actually employs three layers of Dyneema fabric along with its 900-power fill goose down. The result is a jacket that is incredibly lightweight, waterproof, and breathable despite its heavy fill. In addition to the top-notch build, the jacket features YKK water resistant zippers, a reflective section on the back of the adjustable hood, and internal mesh stow pockets for carrying gear and tech around with you in the city or on the mountain.

Purchase: $1,350
