Making a tomahawk that can do more is a tough challenge, but in a space where utility reigns supreme, innovation is always welcomed. Setting out to do just that, Flagrant Beard partnered with Exit Edgeworks on a year long journey to develop a hand axe ready for any job, the US made Flagrant Templar.

Comprised of high carbon 1095 steel for a long wearing life, a 6 ½-inch head with ¼-inch thick blade is followed by a secondary, smaller blade for working on finer cuts. The full metal tang of the 12 ¾-inch long Templar is flanked by beautifully scalloped Micarta grips that strike familiar resemblance to a carpenter’s hammer, providing excellent grip for a variety of tasks. Heavy jimping increases grip of the tool and innovative reverse jimping provides extra traction for the bite notch at the base of the spike, making quick work of busting padlocks when needed.

Purchase: $380
