Completing the fabled Baja 1000 is no easy feat, especially for a stock class 4×4 in 1977, and dusting the competition to win by a two hour margin is legendary. Vehicles that can cross the finish line in Ensenada are cemented in off-road racing history, making this restored ‘77 International Scout II Traveler one for the record books.

Taking a near bulletproof factory vehicle, this resto mod has been meticulously combed through and updated with modern comforts while retaining its 70’s soul. Squeezed under the hood is a modern GM Vortec 6000 6.0 liter V8 that delivers plenty of power to a 4 speed automatic transmission. The Dana 300 transfer case distributes over 360 ft-lbs of torque with a 2.62:1 gear ratio in low mode, providing enough umph to get the Falken Wildpeak tires up any rock wall out there. Contemporary suspension calms the ride on this teeth rattler and a slew of custom accessories poise this rig to be an excellent desert destroyer.

Purchase: $70,000+
