Nomadic Homes

For most Americans, home is synonymous with certainty. It’s a fixed point in the world that you can call your own – a place that remains the same no matter how much changes around you. For the designers and inhabitants of the living spaces profiled in Nomadic Homes, nothing could be further from the truth.

Taschen’s upcoming release (available in December of this year) focuses the lens of photographer Russ Gray and the pen of editor Philip Jodidio on living spaces ranging from houseboats to refurbished trailers, and refugee camps. Each home is accompanied by photography of both the exterior and interior, as well as copies of the plans as laid out by the designer. More than just focusing on homes, the book offers insight into the mentality and lifestyle of both the architects and inhabitants of these spaces. The hardback book measures in at 9.5 by 12.5-inches and contains 344 pages.
