We’re not sure what is responsible for the rise in profile of the hybrid mountain and road bike – but it is hard not to want to jump on the bandwagon when one comes across a ride like the Fern Chuck Touring Bike.

Made by a couple of design students turned avid cyclists (and entrepreneurs), this custom handmade bicycle features both a stunning design and series of high quality components. Purpose-built for desert crossings, the Chuck features large, 26-inch wheels, a Shimano XT rear derailleur and groupset, as well as traditional rim brakes on both wheels. To accomodate long, serious rides through the backcountry – the bike can take lightweight bike bags from Gramm Tourpacking, three bottle cages, and a front light.
